"I first became aquainted with Quilter's Delight in 1989 when the shop opened. What a wonderful shop! At the end of 1990 I started teaching and I taught until the shop closed at the end of 1998. I was devastated as were my students. Fortunately for everyone Quilter's Delight is still with us via this new media and fortunately for me, since I make most of their samples, I still get to see all of those beautiful fabrics as they arrive. Quilter's delight carries so many types of fabric from calicos to some very interesting "way out" prints. Something for everyone has always been their goal. The quality of their fabrics is A-1 and, as far as I am concerned, so isn't Quilter's Delight. "I restored this quilt pieced by Sadie Steener Billow and her daughter, Carrie Billow Shaffer. Sadie died in 1943 and her daughter finished piecing it. Carrie died in 1967. I purchased the quilt top, batting and backing in 1999. The batting was unusable; I replaced it with cotton batting. I started to quilt it in 1999 and didn't finish it until 2000." |
